Sol 6.1

  1. من الرحمن لا تيأس فإنه

    يجود بفضله كرماً ومنه

    Do not despair of the Most Merciful, for He

    Bestows His bounty in generosity and grace.

  2. ولا ترجو سواه لكلّ خطب

    فما للمرء غير حماه جنه

    And hope in none but Him in every calamity,

    For a person has no shield but His protection.

  3. وان تبغى خلاص النفس منه

    لسانك عن عيوب الناس عنه

    And if you seek from Him your soul's deliverance,

    Restrain your tongue from people's faults.

  4. ولا تعتب أخاك بقول زور

    ولا سوءاً به أبداً تظنه

    And do not reproach your brother with false words,

    And never think any evil of him.

  5. ولا تثني عليه سوى بخير

    فانّ اللَه يعلم ما تكنه

    And speak of him only in good terms,

    For God knows what you conceal.

  6. فللمغتاب عند اللَه مقت

    وعند الخوف لا يعطيه أمنه

    For the backbiter is loathed in God's sight,

    And in times of fear, He does not grant him His protection.

  7. ولانك في الورى أبداً حسودا

    فحسبك أن تبوء بشرّ محنه

    And never be envious among humankind,

    For it is enough for you to incur the worst ordeal.

  8. وتقوى اللَه لا تنفكّ عنه

    وخالل كلّ ذي علم وفطنه

    And never depart from reverence for God,

    And befriend everyone endowed with knowledge and discernment.

  9. فأهل العلم في الدنيا نجوم

    بهم تهدى إلى فرض وسنه

    For people of knowledge are stars in this world;

    Through them you are guided to religious duty and the Sunna.

  10. وسل عن دينك المسؤول عنه

    ولا تك جاهلاً فالجهل فتنه

    And inquire about your religion, for which you will be questioned,

    And do not be ignorant, for ignorance is a trial.

  11. فيا أسفي لقد ضيعت عمري

    مع الغفلات مطلوق الأعنه

    Alas for me! I have indeed squandered my life,

    Amid heedless lapses, with the reins let loose.

  12. فلا علم علمت ولا اكتساب

    يكون مآله لدخول جنه

    So I have gained no knowledge, nor earned anything

    Whose outcome would be entry into Paradise.

  13. ولكن لي إلى ربي شفيع

    شفاعته بها أعطاه إذنه

    Yet I have an intercessor before my Lord;

    For his intercession, He has granted him His permission:

  14. محمد الذي ما زال يرقا

    لحضرة ربه من غير وهنه

    Muhammad, who has never ceased to ascend

    To his Lord's presence, without weakness.

  15. فحصّ بما رآه بغير شك

    وأذهب بالبشارة كلّ حزنه

    Thus he was favored with what he saw, beyond doubt,

    And with glad tidings, He dispelled all his sorrow.

  16. وهدّ ببعثه ركن الأعادي

    وشدّد عزمه وأشاد ركنه

    And by sending him, He shattered the enemies' pillar,

    And strengthened his resolve and raised his pillar high.
