By God, O lady of the anklet and sumptuous robes!
By God, O lady of the anklet and fine robes,
Bring back to us what has passed from our days of old.
Restore to us what passed in our former days.

Estrangement has lasted long; graciously grant a meeting and restore our union.
Estrangement has lasted long; grant me a meeting and unite with me.
For as for me, sweet slumber has forsaken my eye.
For sweet slumber has already forsaken my eyes.

In perfection of beauty, you have no equal;
For you have no equal in the perfection of beauty,
Nor among lovers is anyone as sorely tried as I.
Nor among lovers is there anyone like me—indeed.

فانتمfor you أمليmy hope إنif خابfails بيfor me أمليmy hope
I have nothing but your gate, should my deeds betray me.
I have nothing but your door if my deeds betray me.
For you are my hope, should my own hope fail me.
For you are my hope if my hope fails me.

واقبلونيand accept me علىdespite ماwhat فيّis within me منof خللflaws
Then mend and conceal my lapses, O my masters,
So remedy and conceal my lapses, O my masters,
And accept me despite the flaws within me.
And accept me despite the flaws within me.

If you accept me—O my honor, O my joy!
If you accept me, what honor and what joy are mine!
Or if my estrangement endures—O my humiliation, O my bereavement!
Or if I remain forsaken, what humiliation and what bereavement are mine!

For you are my hope when my paths close in upon me,
For you are my hope if my paths grow narrow for me.
And you are my recourse when all my resources are exhausted.
And you are my resource if my resources are exhausted.
