إياك والظنّ القبيح فانه

إياك والظنّ القبيح فانه

إثم كما قال الإله تعالى

إثم كما قال الإله تعالى

Beware of foul suspicion, for it

Beware of vile suspicion, for it is

Is a sin, as God Most High has said.

A sin, as God Almighty has said.

وعليك بالتسليم أسلم حالة

وعليك بالتسليم أسلم حالة

لا تبتغي دون السلامة حالا

لا تبتغي دون السلامة حالا

And hold to submission, the safest state;

You must submit in complete resignation;

Seek no state short of safety.

Seek no state other than safety.

واعلم ولاية ربنا في خلقه

واعلم ولاية ربنا في خلقه

محجوبة ما للظنون مجالا

محجوبة ما للظنون مجالا

And know that our Lord’s friendship among His creatures

Know that our Lord's governance over His creation

Is veiled; there is no scope for conjecture.

Is veiled; conjecture has no place.

والأمر بالمعروف مأمور به

والأمر بالمعروف مأمور به

غير التجسس يا فتى وخيالا

غير التجسس يا فتى وخيالا

And enjoining what is right is commanded,

Enjoining right is commanded,

Not spying, young man, or fanciful imaginings.

Not spying, O youth, and imagining.

لا تستمع نقلاً أتى من فاسق

لا تستمع نقلاً أتى من فاسق

لا تستمع من ذي الفسوق مقالا

لا تستمع من ذي الفسوق مقالا

Do not listen to a report that comes from a wrongdoer;

Do not listen to the words of the immoral

Do not listen to words from one given to wrongdoing.

Related to you; hear no speech from the corrupt.

هذابه نصّ القران مصرّحا

هذابه نصّ القران مصرّحا

خذ ما تريد هداية وضلالا

خذ ما تريد هداية وضلالا

The Qur’an has explicitly declared this.

The Qur'an has clearly advised this;

Take what you wish—guidance or misguidance.

Take from it guidance or misguidance.
