ليس إِلا التزامُ ما

ليس إِلا التزامُ ما

كان مولاي قد رَسَم

كان مولاي قد رَسَم

It is nothing but adherence to what

It is only the commitment of what

my lord had prescribed.

My Master has outlined

أيها العالِم الذي

أيها العالِم الذي

شيَّد الرسمَ والكرم

شيَّد الرسمَ والكرم

O learned one who

O wise one who

raised high custom and generosity,

Built the outline and generosity

والذي فَضله أقا

والذي فَضله أقا

م مديحِي على قَدَم

م مديحِي على قَدَم

and whose bounty has made

And whose superiority made

my praise stand upon its feet,

My praise of him established

قد رُزِينا وصالكم

قد رُزِينا وصالكم

والرزايا لها قِيَم

والرزايا لها قِيَم

We have suffered the loss of your company,

We have been provided your company

and calamities have their price.

And provisions have value

فلهذا دموعُنا

فلهذا دموعُنا

بعدكم فَيضهُنّ دم

بعدكم فَيضهُنّ دم

Thus our tears,

Thus our tears

after you, flow as blood.

After you overflow blood
