إنَّ نورَ الدين لمّا أن رأى

في البساتين قصورَ الأغنياء

في البساتين قصورَ الأغنياء

Indeed, when Nur al-Din saw

the palaces of the wealthy amid the gardens,

عمرَّ الربوةَ قصراً شاهقاً

عمرَّ الربوةَ قصراً شاهقاً

نزهةً مطلقةً للفقراء

نزهةً مطلقةً للفقراء

he built a towering palace on the hill,

as a place of recreation freely open to the poor.
