I have worn ninety years of life,

and I have a hope enamored of more.

And the ninety-first year has now followed them,

and my soul aspires to ninety-five and ninety-six.

And it is no wonder if I reach a hundred safe and sound,

for a person may attain what he expects.

And before me, the wise have loathed the length of their lives,

and no one with room for reason within him has blamed them.
