فإنَّfor indeed شوقيَmy longing أضعافُmany times as much as الذيwhat فيهاin them
Do not let my letters weary you when they grow numerous,
My frequent writings should not bore you,
for my longing is many times what they contain.
For my longing is many times what's in them,
واللهby God لوif ملكتpossessed كفِّيmy hand مهانةًabasement (unclear here)
منfrom اللياليthe nights التيwhich أحياI live بناديهاin their gathering place
By God, if my hand possessed abasement [unclear in context],
And I swear by God, if my palms owned
from the nights in whose gathering place I live,
The nights I've lived calling out to you,
لماwould not تصرَّمpass away ليfor me فيin غيرother than داركمyour home
ليلٌa night ولاnor متٌّI died إِلاexcept فيin نواحيهاits surroundings
never would there pass for me outside your home
I would not spend on a home but yours
a night, nor would I die except in its surroundings.
A night or a life but in its precincts.
عدواcount احتمالكمyour forbearance ليwith me أضجركمI weary you
منamong الصِّلاتthe favors التيthat منكمfrom you أرجِّيهاI hope for them
Count your forbearance with me, as I weary you,
Consider your enduring me has wearied you
among the favors I hope for from you.
More than my hopes of attachment to you.
