  1. إقليدس العلم الَّذِي تحوي بِهِ

    مَا فِي السماء معاً وَفِي الآفاق

    Euclid is the science by which you encompass

    all that is in the sky and in the horizons together.

  2. تزكو فوائده عَلَى إنفاقه

    يَا حبذا ذاك عَلَى الإنفاق

    Its benefits flourish through its expenditure—

    O, how excellent it is when expended!

  3. هو سلم وكأنما أشكاله

    درج إِلَى العلياء للطراق

    It is a ladder, and its figures seem to be

    steps toward the heights for those who climb.

  4. ترقى بِهِ النفس الشريفة مرتقى

    أكرم بذاك المرتقى والراقي

    Through it, the noble soul rises to a height;

    how noble are that height and the one who rises!
