يكفيك من شأنها بعضَ الذي عسرا

يكفيك من شأنها بعضَ الذي عسرا

Send the clan’s daughter back, or else find her a man.

Reply to the girl's folks or else make mention of her,

Some of what proved difficult in her affair is enough for you.

For you suffice with some of her affair though hard,

فقد تأبوك حتَّى لا أناة بهم

فقد تأبوك حتَّى لا أناة بهم

وجمجموا الأمرَ حتى شاعَ واشتهرا

وجمجموا الأمرَ حتى شاعَ واشتهرا

For they have rejected you until no patience remains in them.

Since they have turned you down, with no flexibility,

And they kept the matter vague until it spread and became well known.

And complicated the matter until it spread and gained notoriety,

قالت يقدِّم قبل الأمر اصبعه

قالت يقدِّم قبل الأمر اصبعه

متى تعاطى بكفيه حراً عقرا

متى تعاطى بكفيه حراً عقرا

She said, “He puts his finger forward before the act,

She said "He puts forth his finger before the matter,

Whenever he handles a barren vulva with both hands.”

Whenever he handles something hot, he gets burned"
