لقد ضلَّ من أمسى بنصحك يَهتدي
Leave off blame, or blame me, for I am not listening.
Leave the blame or reproach me not, for I listen not

بلَبلىfor Lablā ولمand did not أمدُدI extend إلىtoward غيرهاanyone other than her يديmy hand
بلَبلى ولم أمدُد إلى غيرها يدي
For life is nothing but my dying of passionate longing

And her buttocks make her sit when she rises,
Her hips made her stumble as she stood
so here I am, because of her, amid what makes me rise and what makes me sit.
And so I waver between rising and sitting
