صددْتُمْ بِلا جُرمٍ فجَوْرُ صُدودِكُمْ

صددْتُمْ بِلا جُرمٍ فجَوْرُ صُدودِكُمْ

إلى غير أشكالي مِنَ الخَلْقِ ألجاني

إلى غير أشكالي مِنَ الخَلْقِ ألجاني

You turned away though I had done no wrong; the injustice of your rejection

drove me to people not of my kind.

ولَم أجنِ ذَنباً غير أنِّي بحُبِّكُمْ

ولَم أجنِ ذَنباً غير أنِّي بحُبِّكُمْ

خَضَعْتُ لكُمْ صُغْراً كَما خضَعَ الجاني

خَضَعْتُ لكُمْ صُغْراً كَما خضَعَ الجاني

And I committed no sin except that, out of love for you,

I bowed before you in abasement, as an offender bows.
