إذاwhen قيَّضَordains اللهُGod أمراًa matter دنَتdraws near
إذا قيَّضَ اللهُ أمراً دنَت
عليكَto you مسافَةthe distance أطرافِهِits farthest reaches
عليكَ مسافَة أطرافِهِ
When God ordains a matter, there draws near
When Allah decrees a matter,
to you the distance to its farthest reaches.
Its edges draw near you.
وإنand if يقضِHe decrees بالعُسرِwith hardship فيin مطلَبٍa pursuit
وإن يقضِ بالعُسرِ في مطلَبٍ
فَمنْthen who لكَfor you يَوماًever بإسعافِهِwith aid in attaining it
فَمنْ لكَ يَوماً بإسعافِهِ
And if He decrees hardship in a pursuit,
And if He decrees hardship in an aspiration,
who, then, can ever help you attain it?
Then who can help you with His aid?
