وأمستِ الدارُ بنا شاحِطَه

When Abul Qasim is gone

and the house grows distant to us,

And the house becomes desolate

نجومُ ليلٍ فقدَت بَدرَها

نجومُ ليلٍ فقدَت بَدرَها

وعِقدُ دُرٍّ فقد الواسِطَه

وعِقدُ دُرٍّ فقد الواسِطَه

are stars of night that have lost their full moon,

Stars of a night that lost their moon

and a necklace of pearls that has lost its central pearl.
