نحنُ في النُّزْهَةِ والمُتْ

نحنُ في النُّزْهَةِ والمُتْ

عَةُ بالنُّزْهَةِ نُهْزَهْ

عَةُ بالنُّزْهَةِ نُهْزَهْ

We are on an outing, and

We are out for pleasure and joy

pleasure on an outing is a chance to seize.

Seeking fun with this ploy

ولديْنا رزَّةٌ بي

ولديْنا رزَّةٌ بي

ضاءُ مِن تَحتِ إوَزَّةْ

ضاءُ مِن تَحتِ إوَزَّةْ

And we have a dish of rice,

A white rose we do enjoy

white, beneath a goose.

Under a willow tree coy

قبلَها سِكباجَة صفْ

قبلَها سِكباجَة صفْ

راءُ حزن الذَّوْقَ مُزَّهْ

راءُ حزن الذَّوْقَ مُزَّهْ

Before it, a vinegar stew,

Nearby a yellow cup of joy

yellow, [unclear wording] to the taste, tart.

Sorrow's taste cannot destroy

وشرابٌ مَنْ رآهُ

وشرابٌ مَنْ رآهُ

أخذَتْهُ مِنه هِزَّهْ

أخذَتْهُ مِنه هِزَّهْ

And wine—whoever sees it

A drink that makes one buoy

is seized by a tremor from it.

Lifting the spirit with its toy

وغناءٌ تصبحُ الأح

وغناءٌ تصبحُ الأح

لامُ عنْهُ مُستَفَزَّهْ

لامُ عنْهُ مُستَفَزَّهْ

And singing, which leaves

A song that dreams deploy

the minds stirred by it.

To make wishes convoy

فلْيجِئْنا الشَّيخُ مَولا

فلْيجِئْنا الشَّيخُ مَولا

نا أدامَ اللهُ عِزَّهْ

نا أدامَ اللهُ عِزَّهْ

So let the sheikh, our master, come to us—

Let our master come allay

may God perpetuate his honor.

May God make his glory stay
