لئنْ كَدَّرَ الدَّهرُ الخَؤون مَشارِبي

وماتَ أميري ناصرُ الدِّينِ والمُلْكِ

Though time has troubled my days

And my lord, defender of faith and rule, died

فلي من يَقيني بالإله ودينِهِ

أميرٌ يَقيني السُّوءَ في النَّفْسِ والمُلْكِ

Yet my faith in God and his way

Gives me a lord who wards off evil in my soul and rule

ومِن عُددَي كَفُّ الأذى وقَناعَتي

وصَبريَ في هَذا الزَّمانِ مِن الهُلْكِ

And in my numbers are protection from harm and contentment

And my patience in this age against destruction

وإنْ جاشَ طوفانُ الهَلاكِ فإنَّني

هنالِكَ نوحٌ واعتِزالِيَ كالفُلْكِ

And if the flood of annihilation rages, then

I am Noah there, and my isolation is like the ark

فقولوا لإخواني استَقيموا وأَبِشروا

جَميعاً فإنِّي والسَّلامَةَ في سلْكِ

So say to my brothers: walk straight and give good news

All together, for I and wellbeing are on the path
