ألا لا تتخِذ إلا كريماً

ألا لا تتخِذ إلا كريماً

زكيَّ العِرقِ طينتُهُ ولَيجَه

زكيَّ العِرقِ طينتُهُ ولَيجَه

Take heed: choose none but a noble man,

Do not take as a friend anyone but the noble,

Whose clay is of pure stock, as your confidant.

Of pure lineage, his character and manners refined.

فإن الوالدين هما جميعاً

فإن الوالدين هما جميعاً

Two premises, and the child is the conclusion.
