يا مَن أراهُ للزَّمانِ حَسَنَهْ

يا مَن أراهُ للزَّمانِ حَسَنَهْ

ومَنْ حوى من كُلِّ عِلمٍ حَسَنَهْ

ومَنْ حوى من كُلِّ عِلمٍ حَسَنَهْ

O you whom I regard as a blessing to the age,

O you who shows the beauty of time,

and who have gathered the finest of every branch of knowledge:

And who encompasses all beautiful knowledge,

إن غِبْتَ عَنّا سَنةً فَهْيَ سَنَهْ

إن غِبْتَ عَنّا سَنةً فَهْيَ سَنَهْ

وسَنَةٌ تحضُرُ فيها وَسَنَهْ

وسَنَةٌ تحضُرُ فيها وَسَنَهْ

If you are absent from us for a year, it is a year of drought;

If you are absent from us for a year, it is an eternity,

and a year in which you are present is but a doze.

And a year in which you are present is youthful bliss.
