يا قلب لا تستشْعِرِ الأحزانا

يا قلب لا تستشْعِرِ الأحزانا

واخضَعْ لرَيبِ الدَّهرِ أنََى كانا

واخضَعْ لرَيبِ الدَّهرِ أنََى كانا

O heart, do not take sorrows to heart.

O heart, do not feel sad

And yield to time's adversity, whatever form it takes.

And submit to the turns of fate wherever they lead

وارضَ الزَّمانَ على تَقَلُّبِ صَرْفِهِ

وارضَ الزَّمانَ على تَقَلُّبِ صَرْفِهِ

أولا فأَبدِلْ بالزَّمانِ زمَانا

أولا فأَبدِلْ بالزَّمانِ زمَانا

And accept time despite its shifting fortunes.

Accept the changing times in their endless cycle

Or else replace this time with another time.

For time itself changes with time
