إنَindeed ليI have فيin الهوىlove لِساناًa tongue كَتوماًsecret-keeping
إنَ لي في الهوى لِساناً كَتوماً
وجَناناًand a heart يُخفيhides حَريقَthe blaze of جَواهُits anguish
وجَناناً يُخفي حَريقَ جَواهُ
Indeed, in love I have a tongue that keeps its secrets,
And a heart that hides the blaze of its anguish.
غيرَexcept أنِّيthat I أخافُI fear دَمعيmy tears عَلَيهِfor it
غيرَ أنِّي أخافُ دَمعي عَلَيهِ
سَتَراهُyou will see it يُفشيrevealing الّذيwhat سَتَراهُthe two concealed it
سَتَراهُ يُفشي الّذي سَتَراهُ
Yet I fear for it because of my tears:
You will see them reveal what those two concealed.
