إذا لم يَفُتْنيَ عَقلٌ ودِينٌ

إذا لم يَفُتْنيَ عَقلٌ ودِينٌ

وصِحَّةُ جِسمٍ وأَمْنٌ وقُوتُ

وصِحَّةُ جِسمٍ وأَمْنٌ وقُوتُ

If I have not lost reason and faith,

If I am not deprived of reason, faith,

and bodily health, security, and sustenance,

Health of body, safety, livelihood,

فلا خلقَ أسوأُ مِنِّي اختِياراً

فلا خلقَ أسوأُ مِنِّي اختِياراً

إذا ما أسيت لشَيءٍ يفوتُ

إذا ما أسيت لشَيءٍ يفوتُ

then no creature chooses more poorly than I,

Then none worse than I in fates I face

if I grieve over something that slips away.

When I complain about what I've missed out.
