إذا دهى خَطبٌ فآراؤه

إذا دهى خَطبٌ فآراؤه

تُغني عن الجَيشِ وتَسريبِهِ

تُغني عن الجَيشِ وتَسريبِهِ

If a calamity strikes, then his counsels

Suffice in place of the army and its deployment.

وإن دجا لَيْلٌ بدَا نورُهُ

وإن دجا لَيْلٌ بدَا نورُهُ

للرَّكْبِ نجماً فهي تَسري بِهِ

للرَّكْبِ نجماً فهي تَسري بِهِ

And if night grows dark, his light appears

For the caravan as a star, so it journeys through the night by that light.
