إذا ازدرى ساقِطٌ كَريماً

إذا ازدرى ساقِطٌ كَريماً

فلا يَطولَنَّ ضِيقُ صَدْرِهْ

فلا يَطولَنَّ ضِيقُ صَدْرِهْ

If a base man scorns a noble one,

let the distress in his breast not linger;

فأكثَرُ النَّاسِ مُنذُ كانُوا

فأكثَرُ النَّاسِ مُنذُ كانُوا

ما قدَرُوا اللهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهْ

ما قدَرُوا اللهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهْ

for most people, ever since they came to be,

have not esteemed God as He deserves.
