عَذَرتُكَ يا إنسانُ إنْ كنْتَ مُغرَماً

عَذَرتُكَ يا إنسانُ إنْ كنْتَ مُغرَماً

بغَدرٍ ومُغرىً بالتَّحَيُّلِ والنَّكْثِ

بغَدرٍ ومُغرىً بالتَّحَيُّلِ والنَّكْثِ

I excuse you, O human, if you are enamored

I excuse you, O man, if you are infatuated

of treachery and enticed by scheming and oath-breaking.

With treachery, betrayal, guile and perfidy.

وكيفَ ألومُ المَرءَ في خُبْثِ فعلِهِ

وكيفَ ألومُ المَرءَ في خُبْثِ فعلِهِ

وأوَّلُ شَيءٍ قد غَذاهُ دَمُ الطَّمْثِ

وأوَّلُ شَيءٍ قد غَذاهُ دَمُ الطَّمْثِ

And how can I blame a person for the wickedness of his deed,

How can I blame a person for their evil acts

when the first thing that nourished him was menstrual blood?

When the first thing they were fed was unclean blood.
