شرِبتُ على سلامَةِ أفتكينٍ

شرِبتُ على سلامَةِ أفتكينٍ

شراباً صفوُهُ صفْوُ اليَقينِ

شراباً صفوُهُ صفْوُ اليَقينِ

I drank to the well-being of Aftakin,

I drank to the well-being of one I miss

A draught whose purity is the purity of certainty.

A drink as pure as certainty's clearness is

ولو أَنِّي ملكْتُ عِنانَ أمري

ولو أَنِّي ملكْتُ عِنانَ أمري

جعْلتُ فداءهُ نَفسي وديني

جعْلتُ فداءهُ نَفسي وديني

And had I held the reins of my affairs,

And if I held the reins of my affairs

I would have made my life and my faith a ransom for him.
