زُفَّتْ إليكَ لَنا عرائِسُ أربَعٌ

زُفَّتْ إليكَ لَنا عرائِسُ أربَعٌ

فَفَضضْتَها بالسَّمعِ وهْيَ قَصائدُ

فَفَضضْتَها بالسَّمعِ وهْيَ قَصائدُ

Four brides of ours were led to you;

and you deflowered them by listening—they are poems.

فابعَثْ إليَّ مُهورَهُنَّ بأسرِها

فابعَثْ إليَّ مُهورَهُنَّ بأسرِها

إنَّ النِّكاحَ بِغَيرِ مَهْرٍ فاسِد

إنَّ النِّكاحَ بِغَيرِ مَهْرٍ فاسِد

So send me their dowries in full;

indeed, marriage without a dowry is invalid.
