ومن الدليل على انتكاس أمورنا

في هذه الدنيا لِمَن يتأمَّلُ

في هذه الدنيا لِمَن يتأمَّلُ

And one sign that our affairs are turned upside down

Among the evidence that our affairs are declining

in this world, for whoever reflects,

In this life, for whoever contemplates,

أن الأجنةَ في الولاد رؤوسُهم

أن الأجنةَ في الولاد رؤوسُهم

تهوي إلى سُفلٍ وتعلو الأَرجُلُ

تهوي إلى سُفلٍ وتعلو الأَرجُلُ

is that, at birth, the fetuses’ heads

Is that fetuses at birth, their heads

fall downward while their feet rise.

Plunge down while their feet rise up
