ويَومٍ جَلا عنّا ظَلامَ هُمومِنا

ويَومٍ جَلا عنّا ظَلامَ هُمومِنا

وضمّ لَنا من أُنْسِنا ما تَزَيَّلا

وضمّ لَنا من أُنْسِنا ما تَزَيَّلا

And a day that dispelled from us the darkness of our cares,

A day dispelled from us the darkness of our sorrows,

and gathered for us what had scattered of our companionship.

And gathered for us of our companions what had scattered away.

وما غضَّ من إسعافِنا بجميعِ

وما غضَّ من إسعافِنا بجميعِ

أرَدْناهُ إلاّ أّنَّهُ إذ حَلا خَلا

أرَدْناهُ إلاّ أّنَّهُ إذ حَلا خَلا

And nothing marred its granting us all

Whatever we wished for of aid was not withheld,

we desired, except that when it grew sweet, it passed.

Except that when it arrived, it departed.
