وذاتِ دَلٍّ إذا لاحظْتَ صورتَها

وذاتِ دَلٍّ إذا لاحظْتَ صورتَها

رجعْتَ عَنها بقَلبٍ جِدِّ مَفتونِ

رجعْتَ عَنها بقَلبٍ جِدِّ مَفتونِ

And a coquettish woman—when you gaze upon her form,

When you see the image of a tender one,

you come away from her with a heart utterly bewitched.

You will return from it with a heart truly infatuated.

تزوَرُّ عنِّي بنونِ الصُّدْغِ حينَ رأتْ

إمامَ لَهْوي يقرا سورةَ النُّونِ

She turns away from me with the nūn-shaped lock at her temple, upon seeing

She feigns distance from me when she saw

the imam of my pleasure reciting the Sura of Nūn.
