أخٌ لي لفظُةُ دُرٌ

أخٌ لي لفظُةُ دُرٌ

وكُلُّ فعالِهِ بِرُّ

وكُلُّ فعالِهِ بِرُّ

A brother of mine—his speech is pearls,

and all his deeds are goodness.

تلَقَّاني فَحَيّانِي

تلَقَّاني فَحَيّانِي

بوَجْهٍ بَشْرُهُ بِشْرُ

بوَجْهٍ بَشْرُهُ بِشْرُ

He met me, then greeted me

with a face whose very skin was cheerfulness.
