لَعَمْريby my life لَئِنَindeed, if كَانَتْwas نَواكُمyour remoteness تَباعَدَتْgrew distant
لَعَمْري لَئِنَ كَانَتْ نَواكُم تَباعَدَتْ
لِمَاbecause of what قَرَّsettled بَيْناًseparation منكمُfrom you الدارُthe dwelling أَطْولاlonger
لِمَا قَرَّ بَيْناً منكمُ الدارُ أَطْولا
By my life, if your remoteness has grown greater,
[Wording unclear:] for the dwelling has settled into a longer separation from you.
فَإِنَthen if تَنْأَgrows distant بِيَwith me الدَّارُthe dwelling منكمfrom you لَمُبْلِغٌsurely one who conveys
فَإِنَ تَنْأَ بِيَ الدَّارُ منكم لَمُبْلِغٌ
إِلَيْنَاto us وَإِنْand even if كانَwas التَّبَصُّرُseeing clearly أَجْمَلاmore beautiful
إِلَيْنَا وَإِنْ كانَ التَّبَصُّرُ أَجْمَلا
Then, if the dwelling carries me far from you, surely someone will convey word
to us, though seeing clearly would be finer.
