مَنwho لِعَبدٍfor a servant أَذَلَّهُhas humbled him مَولاهُhis Lord
مَن لِعَبدٍ أَذَلَّهُ مَولاهُ
ماnot لَهُfor him شافِعٌan intercessor إِلَيهِwith Him سِواهُexcept Him
ما لَهُ شافِعٌ إِلَيهِ سِواهُ
Who will help a servant whom his Lord has humbled?
What can the lowly servant do when rejected by his Master?
He has no intercessor with Him except Him.
There is none to intercede for him except the Master himself.
يَشتَكيhe complains ماwhat بِهِafflicting him إِلَيهِto Him وَيَخشاand fears
يَشتَكي ما بِهِ إِلَيهِ وَيَخشا
هُHim وَيَرجوهُand hopes in Him مِثلَماjust as يَخشاهُhe fears Him
هُ وَيَرجوهُ مِثلَما يَخشاهُ
He complains to Him of what ails him, and fears
He complains to Him of his state and fears Him,
Him, and hopes in Him just as he fears Him.
And places his hopes in Him just as he fears Him.
