ما بالُ قَلبِكَ لا تُحَرِّكُهُ

عِظَةٌ عَلى ماذا تَوَرُّكُهُ

What is with your heart that does not stir it

A sermon - what are you waiting for

ماذا تُؤَمِّلُ لا أَبا لَكَ في

مالٍ تَموتُ وَأَنتَ تُمسِكُهُ

What do you hope for - no use to you

In wealth - you die holding onto it

ما لَم تَكُن لَكَ فيهِ مَنفَعَةٌ

مِمّا مَلَكتَ فَلَستَ تَملِكُهُ

If there is no benefit for you

In what you own - you do not own it

أَنفِق فَإِنَّ اللَهَ يُخلِفُهُ

لا تَمضِ مَذموماً وَتَترُكُهُ

Spend - God will replace it

Do not persist blameworthy and leave it
