لَن تَقومَ الدُنيا بِمَرِّ الأَهِلَّه

لَن تَقومَ الدُنيا بِمَرِّ الأَهِلَّه

فَاِسلُ عَنها فَإِنَّها مُضمَحِلَّه

فَاِسلُ عَنها فَإِنَّها مُضمَحِلَّه

The world will not endure as the crescent moons pass.

The world will not be set right by the passing of the crescents,

So forget it, for it is fading away.

So cease to count on it, for it is decaying.

يا بَني الدُنيا أَتُغرَونَ بِالدُن

يا بَني الدُنيا أَتُغرَونَ بِالدُن

يا وَلَيسَت لِأَهلِها بِمَحَلَّه

يا وَلَيسَت لِأَهلِها بِمَحَلَّه

O sons of the world, are you beguiled by the world,

O people of the world, do transient things delude you?

though it is no lasting abode for its people?

Yet they have no place of abode for their people.

مِن أَبٍ واحِدٍ خُلِقنا وَأُمٍّ

مِن أَبٍ واحِدٍ خُلِقنا وَأُمٍّ

غَيرَ أَنّا في المالِ أَولادُ عَلَّه

غَيرَ أَنّا في المالِ أَولادُ عَلَّه

We were created from one father and mother,

We were created from one father and mother,

yet in wealth we are children of different mothers.

Except that in wealth we are elevated and abased.

إِنَّ في صِحَّةِ الإِخاءِ مِنَ النا

إِنَّ في صِحَّةِ الإِخاءِ مِنَ النا

سِ وَفي صِحَّةِ الوَفاءِ لَقَلَّه

سِ وَفي صِحَّةِ الوَفاءِ لَقَلَّه

Indeed, genuine brotherhood among people

Truly in the integrity of brotherhood there is, for people,

and genuine loyalty are rare.

A little, and in the integrity of loyalty, littleness.

فَاِلبَسِ الناسَ ما اِستَطَعتَ عَلى الصَب

فَاِلبَسِ الناسَ ما اِستَطَعتَ عَلى الصَب

رِ وَإِلّا لَم تَستَقِم لَكَ خُلَّه

رِ وَإِلّا لَم تَستَقِم لَكَ خُلَّه

So keep company with people, as patiently as you can,

Clothe people, as much as you are able, with patience,

or no friendship will hold firm for you.

Otherwise your bonds will not remain straight for you.

ما بَقاءُ الإِخاءِ مِن مُتَجَنٍّ

ما بَقاءُ الإِخاءِ مِن مُتَجَنٍّ

يَبتَغي مِنكَ عَلَّةً بَعدَ عِلَّه

يَبتَغي مِنكَ عَلَّةً بَعدَ عِلَّه

How can brotherhood endure with one who makes false accusations,

No continuance of brotherhood remains from a blamer

who seeks from you one pretext after another?

Who seeks from you a fault after a slip.

عِش وَحيداً إِن كُنتَ لا تَقبَلُ العُذ

عِش وَحيداً إِن كُنتَ لا تَقبَلُ العُذ

رَ وَإِن كُنتَ لا تُجاوِزُ زَلَّه

رَ وَإِن كُنتَ لا تُجاوِزُ زَلَّه

Live alone if you do not accept excuses,

Live alone if you do not accept an excuse

and if you do not overlook a slip.

And if you do not overlook a stumble.
