لَستُ أَدري اليَومَ ما لي

O trustee of God, what is wrong with me?

Oh God, what's wrong with me?

Today I do not know what is wrong with me.

Today I do not know what ails me.

لَم أَنَل مِنكَ الَّذي قَد

لَم أَنَل مِنكَ الَّذي قَد

نالَ غَيري مِن نَوالِ

نالَ غَيري مِن نَوالِ

I have not received from you what

I have not gained from You what

others have received as bounty.

Others gained of Your bounty.

تَبذُلُ الحَقَّ وَتُعطي

تَبذُلُ الحَقَّ وَتُعطي

عَن يَمينٍ وَشِمالِ

عَن يَمينٍ وَشِمالِ

You freely give what is due, and bestow

You give truth and gifts

to the right and to the left.

With Your right and left hand.

وَأَنا اليائِسُ لا تَن

وَأَنا اليائِسُ لا تَن

ظُرُ في رِقَّةِ حالي

ظُرُ في رِقَّةِ حالي

And I am despairing—you do not

While I, in despair, You pay no heed

look upon my straitened circumstances.

To my dire condition.
