أَما وَالَّذي لَو شاءَ لَم يَخلُقِ النَوى

أَما وَالَّذي لَو شاءَ لَم يَخلُقِ النَوى

لَئِن غِبتَ عَن عَيني لَما غِبتَ عَن قَلبي

لَئِن غِبتَ عَن عَيني لَما غِبتَ عَن قَلبي

Indeed, by Him who, had He willed, would not have created separation,

By Him who, if He willed, would not have created the grains,

even if you are absent from my sight, you are surely not absent from my heart.

If you are absent from my eyes, you are not absent from my heart,

يُوَهِّمُنيكَ الشَوقُ حَتّى كَأَنَّني

يُوَهِّمُنيكَ الشَوقُ حَتّى كَأَنَّني

أُناجيكَ عَن قُربٍ وَما أَنتَ في قُربي

أُناجيكَ عَن قُربٍ وَما أَنتَ في قُربي

Longing makes me imagine you, until it is as though I

Yearning makes me imagine you so much that it is as if

whisper to you close at hand, though you are not near me.

I am speaking to you from close, while you are not near me
