If God decrees a thing, it will be accomplished.

And how can we be ignorant of a thing that is not unknown?

Indeed, we know full well that we shall join those

Who have departed, yet our hopes stretch far.

I guarantee to the seeker of this world and its adornment

That he will remain engrossed in it as long as he lives.

O Lord, he who was overconfident in his protector

Has spent evening and morning laid low in the graves.

And many a man rejoicing in wealth was consuming it

One day, and drinking it, when he himself became food.

He kept weeping over the dead and carrying them away,

Until we saw him wept over and carried away.
