قَد رَأَيتُ الدُنيا إِلى ما تَصيرُ

قَد رَأَيتُ الدُنيا إِلى ما تَصيرُ

كُلُّ شَيءٍ مِنها صَغيرٌ حَقيرُ

كُلُّ شَيءٍ مِنها صَغيرٌ حَقيرُ

I have seen what the world comes to;

I have seen the life and where it leads

everything in it is small and contemptible.

Everything in it is small and worthless

أَنَ في حيلَةِ التَخَلُّصِ مِنها

أَنَ في حيلَةِ التَخَلُّصِ مِنها

وَعَلى ذَلِكَ الإِلَهُ قَديرُ

وَعَلى ذَلِكَ الإِلَهُ قَديرُ

I am devising a way to free myself from it,

Yet there is a way to escape from it

and God has the power to do that.

And for that the God is all-Powerful

هُوَ رَبّي وَحَسبِيَ اللَهُ رَبّي

هُوَ رَبّي وَحَسبِيَ اللَهُ رَبّي

فَلَنِعمَ المَولى وَنِعمَ النَصيرُ

فَلَنِعمَ المَولى وَنِعمَ النَصيرُ

He is my Lord, and God, my Lord, suffices me.

He is my Lord and my sufficiency is God

So what an excellent Protector, and what an excellent Helper!

So excellent is my Master and excellent my Supporter

أَيُّ شَيءٍ أَبغي إِذا كانَ لي ظِل

أَيُّ شَيءٍ أَبغي إِذا كانَ لي ظِل

لٌ وَقوتٌ حِلٌّ وَثَوبٌ سَتيرُ

لٌ وَقوتٌ حِلٌّ وَثَوبٌ سَتيرُ

What should I seek, if I have shade

What more could I want if I have shade

and lawful sustenance and a garment that covers me?

And food and clothing and cover?

ما بِأَهلِ الكَفافِ فَقرٌ وَلَكِن

ما بِأَهلِ الكَفافِ فَقرٌ وَلَكِن

كُلُّ مَن لَم يَقنَع فَذاكَ فَقيرُ

كُلُّ مَن لَم يَقنَع فَذاكَ فَقيرُ

There is no poverty among those with enough to live on, but

It's not poverty if you're content

whoever is not content—that one is poor.

But one who is never content, that's the pauper
