حَتّىuntil مَتىwhen ذوpossessor of التيهِhaughtiness فيin تيهِهِhis haughtiness
أَصلَحَهُmay He set him right اللَهُGod وَعافاهُand grant him well-being
How long will the haughty man remain in his haughtiness?
How long, O lost in bewilderment, in bewilderment of yours
May God set him right and grant him well-being.
May God reform and heal him
يَتيهُbehaves haughtily أَهلُpeople of التيهِhaughtiness مِنbecause of جَهلِهِمtheir ignorance

The haughty behave haughtily out of their ignorance,
The people of bewilderment are lost in their ignorance
yet they die, however haughty they may be.
And they die though having lost the way
مَنwhoever طَلَبَseeks العِزَّhonor لَيَبقىso that he may endure بِهِthrough it
فَإِنَّthen surely عِزَّhonor المَرءِa person تَقواهُhis piety
Whoever seeks honor so that he may endure through it—
Whoever seeks honor to endure with it
then surely a person's honor is his piety.
Indeed, the honor of a man is his piety
لَمhas not يَعتَصِمheld fast بِاللَهِto God مِنamong خَلقِهِHis creatures
مَنwhoever لَيسَdoes not يَرجوهُhope in Him وَيَخشاهُand fear Him
None of His creatures has held fast to God
Whoever does not hold fast to God among His creation
without hoping in Him and fearing Him.
Is not one who hopes for Him and fears Him
