الخَيرُgood خَيرٌgood كَاسمِهِas its name
الخَيرُ خَيرٌ كَاسمِهِ
وَالشَرُّand evil شَرٌّevil كَاسمِهِas its name
وَالشَرُّ شَرٌّ كَاسمِهِ
Good is good, as its name implies;
and evil is evil, as its name implies.
سُبحانَglory be to مَنHim who وَسِعَencompassed العِباthe servants (word continues)
سُبحانَ مَن وَسِعَ العِبا
دَending of 'the servants' بِعَدلِهِwith His justice فيin حُكمِهِHis judgment
دَ بِعَدلِهِ في حُكمِهِ
Glory to Him who encompasses His servants
with His justice in His judgment,
وَبِعَفوِهِand with His pardon وَبِعَطفِهِand with His compassion
وَبِعَفوِهِ وَبِعَطفِهِ
وَبِلُطفِهِand with His gentleness وَبِحِلمِهِand with His forbearance
وَبِلُطفِهِ وَبِحِلمِهِ
and with His pardon and His compassion,
and with His gentleness and His forbearance.
وَجَميعُand all ماthat هُوَit كائِنٌexistent
وَجَميعُ ما هُوَ كائِنٌ
يَجريruns its course بِسابِقِaccording to prior عِلمِهِHis knowledge
يَجري بِسابِقِ عِلمِهِ
And all that comes into being
runs its course according to His foreknowledge.
قَدindeed أَسعَدَmade happy اللَهُGod امرَأًa man
قَد أَسعَدَ اللَهُ امرَأً
أَرضاهُHe made him content مِنهُfrom Him بِقِسمِهِwith his allotted share
أَرضاهُ مِنهُ بِقِسمِهِ
God has indeed made happy a man
whom He has made content with his allotted share from Him.
