Behold, everyone born is born for death.

Nor do I see any living being granted immortality for any reason.

Strip yourself of the world, for you merely

Fell into the world stripped bare.

And the best thing you have gained from it is indeed

A little enjoyment that fades away and runs out.

And how many a mighty man has time stripped of his might,

Leaving him pitied, though once he was envied.

So do not praise the world; rather, condemn it.

And why should something God has condemned be praised?
