اِصبِرbe patient لِكُلِّwith every مُصيبَةٍcalamity وَتَجَلَّدِand stand firm
اِصبِر لِكُلِّ مُصيبَةٍ وَتَجَلَّدِ
وَاِعلَمand know بِأَنَّthat المَرءَa person غَيرُnot مُخَلَّدِimmortal
وَاِعلَم بِأَنَّ المَرءَ غَيرُ مُخَلَّدِ
Be patient through every calamity, and stand firm;
Be patient with every calamity, and stand firm.
And know that no human being lives forever.
And know that no person is immortal.
أَوَماdo you not تَرىsee أَنَّthat المَصائِبَcalamities جَمَّةٌnumerous
أَوَما تَرى أَنَّ المَصائِبَ جَمَّةٌ
وَتَرىand you see المَنِيَّةَdeath لِلعِبادِfor humankind بِمَرصَدِlying in wait
وَتَرى المَنِيَّةَ لِلعِبادِ بِمَرصَدِ
Do you not see how many calamities there are,
Do you not see that calamities are many,
And see death lying in wait for humankind?
and see death lying in wait for humankind?
مَنwho لَمhas not يُصِبbeen afflicted مِمَّنamong those whom تَرىyou see بِمُصيبَةٍby a calamity
مَن لَم يُصِب مِمَّن تَرى بِمُصيبَةٍ
هَذاthis سَبيلٌa path لَستَyou are not فيهِon it بِأَوحَدِalone
هَذا سَبيلٌ لَستَ فيهِ بِأَوحَدِ
Who among all those you see has not been struck by calamity?
Who among those you see has not been afflicted by a calamity?
This is a path on which you are not alone.
This is a path on which you are not alone.
وَإِذاand when ذَكَرتَyou remember مُحَمَّداًMuhammad وَمَصابَهُand his affliction
وَإِذا ذَكَرتَ مُحَمَّداً وَمَصابَهُ
فَاِذكُرthen remember مُصابَكَyour loss بِالنَبِيِّof the Prophet مُحَمَّدِMuhammad
فَاِذكُر مُصابَكَ بِالنَبِيِّ مُحَمَّدِ
And when you remember Muhammad and what befell him,
And when you remember Muhammad and his affliction,
Remember your own bereavement for the Prophet Muhammad.
then remember your loss of the Prophet Muhammad.
