وَإِنّا إِذا ما تَرَكنا السُؤا

وَإِنّا إِذا ما تَرَكنا السُؤا

لَ مِنهُ فَلَم نَبغِهِ يَبتَدينا

لَ مِنهُ فَلَم نَبغِهِ يَبتَدينا

And indeed, when we refrain from asking

Though when misfortune we forsake

of him and do not seek him out, he approaches us first.

We seek it not, nor tribute pay.

وَإِن نَحنُ لَم نَبغِ مَعروفَهُ

وَإِن نَحنُ لَم نَبغِ مَعروفَهُ

فَمَعروفُهُ أَبَداً يَبتَغينا

فَمَعروفُهُ أَبَداً يَبتَغينا

And if we do not seek his kindness,

Yet good we fail in turn to make,

then his kindness forever seeks us.

Its trace pursue till judgment day.
