The goodness witnessed that goodness is in

retracting what it first got wrong,

Undoing what was wrongly done first

موقناً أَن البهارَ المرتضى

موقناً أَن البهارَ المرتضى

بَهرَ الاملاكَ حالاً وحُلا

بَهرَ الاملاكَ حالاً وحُلا

certain that the favored yellow narcissus

Convinced that the Chosen Spring

outshone kings in bearing and finery.

Dazzled the angels, state and attire

فهوَ الموقظُ انوارَ الرُّبا

فهوَ الموقظُ انوارَ الرُّبا

من سناتٍ فيها البِلا

من سناتٍ فيها البِلا

For it awakens the blossoms of the hills

So it is the awakener of the lights of lordliness

from slumbers in which decay dwells.

From years in which there was misery
