بمدامعٍwith tears نظمتshe strung عليهupon it جوهراjewels
The sky wept and made the earth’s teeth smile,
The sky wept and made the teeth of the earth laugh,
With tears that she strung upon it as jewels.
With tears it strung together into a necklace.
فكأنهاso, as though she were خرقاءa clumsy woman تنثرscattering عِقدَهاher necklace
وكأنهand as though he were مُستغنمwelcoming an opportunity for gain أنthat يُنثراit be scattered
So she seemed a clumsy woman scattering her necklace,
It's as if it were a torn cloak scattering its beads,
And he seemed to welcome its scattering as a windfall.
And as if the earth was fortunate to be scattered upon.

His two hands devoted themselves to stringing its choice pearls,
His hands were busy with its unique composition,
And its pearl beads, one by one, as he bore fruit thereby.
And his two sides made it a fruitful one.

And he restored it, a more splendid sight for the eye,
He returned it more beautiful to the beholder,
And readied it, more fragrant in essence to the nose.
And made it more wise for the nose that smells it.

So behold the beauties of spring, displaying their charms;
So look how the beauties of spring adorned themselves,
Were it not for spring, they would not have revealed themselves to humankind.
If not for spring, they'd not have appeared to creation.
