مِن عِطرِ وَردٍ وَخَيريٍّ وَنَسرينِ
O you who have adorned yourself with fragrant herbs that keep you company,
O you who is adorned with sweet basil as his companion
With the fragrance of roses, wallflowers, and wild roses,
With the fragrance of roses, blessings, and jasmine
وَياسِمينٍand jasmine وَعُودٍand aloeswood ماnot يُغيّرُهُchanges it
وَياسِمينٍ وَعُودٍ ما يُغيّرُهُ
ماhow كانَwas أَحسنَbeautiful ذاthis لَوif لَمnot يَكُنbe دونيwithout me
ما كانَ أَحسنَ ذا لَو لَم يَكُن دوني
And jasmine and aloeswood that you leave unchanged—
And jasmine and aloes wood that does not change it
How lovely this would have been, had I not been left out!
How beautiful it would be if it were not inferior to me
