يا رازِقَ الكَلبِ وَالخِنزير في سِعَةٍ

يا رازِقَ الكَلبِ وَالخِنزير في سِعَةٍ

وَالطَيرُ وَالوَحشُ في بَهماءِ دَوِيُّه

وَالطَيرُ وَالوَحشُ في بَهماءِ دَوِيُّه

O You who provide for the dog and the pig in abundance,

O Provider of dogs and pigs with abundance

O Sustainer of the dog and swine in their abundance,

And the birds and wild beasts in a trackless, desolate wilderness,

And birds and beasts amidst the echoing wilderness

And the birds and beasts within the humming wilderness,

لو شِئتَ صَيَّرتَهُ في حالِ فاقَته

لو شِئتَ صَيَّرتَهُ في حالِ فاقَته

حَتّى تَقِرَّ بِتِلكَ الحالُ عَينَيه

حَتّى تَقِرَّ بِتِلكَ الحالُ عَينَيه

If You wished, You could place him in his state of poverty,

If You willed, You could make one's state of poverty

Had You so willed, You would have cast him into need,

So that his eyes might find contentment in that state.

Content, until with that state are gladdened his eyes

Until his eyes were reconciled to such a state.
