A letter from him reached me, reminding me of
the prime of youth, when pleasure's dwelling was my home:

days when the bough of wishes gloried in its freshness,
when time wore a cheerful face and love was my neighbor.

No—rather like hill flowers, opened all night long
by youth's hand, and clothed in brocade by rains;
