Yet nearness apart from You is impossible, save through You.

فما عنك لي صبر ولا فيك حيلة

ولا منك لي بد ولا عنك مهرب

ولا منك لي بد ولا عنك مهرب

For I have no patience apart from You, nor any stratagem concerning You.

With You, I've no patience; in You, no stratagem;

Nor can I do without You, nor is there any escape from You.

No way but You, no flight unless to You.

تقرب قوم بالرجا فوصلتهم

تقرب قوم بالرجا فوصلتهم

فما لي بعيداً منك والكل يعطب

فما لي بعيداً منك والكل يعطب

Some people drew near through hope, so You granted them union.

Some folk draw near to You through hope's appeal.

So why am I far from You, while all perish?

But far am I; for all my means are flaws.
