محيرةbewildered فيin قدرgreatness منthe One who جلis exalted عنbeyond قدريmy measure
I veiled myself from my time with the veil of its cares,
The sheets of my worries covered my fate,
bewildered before the greatness of the One exalted beyond my measure.
Confused by a destiny different from mine.
فلاso not الدهرtime يدريknows أننيthat I عنهfrom it غائبabsent
ولاand not أناI أدريknow بالخطوبof calamities إذاwhen تجريthey unfold
So time does not know that I am absent from it,
So fate doesn't know that from it I'm absent,
nor do I know of calamities when they unfold.
Nor do I know of misfortunes when they occur.
إذاif كانis كليmy whole being واقفاًstanding firm بوفائهin His faithfulness
فلستso I do not أباليcare ماas long as حييتI live يدthe hand الدهرof time
If my whole being stands firm in His faithfulness,
If my all is standing by its loyalty,
then, as long as I live, I care nothing for the hand of time.
Then I don't care how long the hand of fate lives.
