  1. سمحت بالوصال والليل قد أس

    دل ثواباً وقد أمنا الرقيبا

    You consented to union, while night had let

    fall a reward, and we were safe from the watcher.

  2. فشهدنا بدراً بصورة شخص

    يدمي بهز غصناً رطيبا

    So we beheld a full moon in the form of a person

    who makes a tender bough bleed with a shake.
